This past week has been filled with severe allergies and trouble breathing with these yearly fires turning CA into a desert. In the midst of it all, I started to pack for New Mexico. I had no idea how much work it is to put twenty-years of your life into small brown boxes. I find myself reminded of old memories that have been forgotten and items that no longer have meaningful use. The 8 of Cups has been popping up for me this week in my Modern Witch Tarot deck, which makes a perfect metaphor about change and movement. Cups is water energy (Cancer/Scorpio/Pisces) that speaks to matters of the heart: emotions, feelings, intuition, inner experience + flow, passivity, and slow energy. This peaceful card reminds me that a deeper sense of self is in action by leaving a stable situation and embarking on a new journey that is always connected to the moon. Next week is the full moon in pisces that dares us to dream and fantasize like this person is doing in the card by following their intuition. The moon phase in this image is an eclipse, with the moon moving across the sun. I am a temperamental Cancer lady who worships the moody planet as a compass for my emotions. I head in the direction of mountains at night illuminating the inner work I will do on new mountain land. Water has the beautiful ability to sense when something has come to an end and it is time to move onwards ( San Francisco). I even see this as one of the gate cards that has a person walking through 8 upright cups ~ a portal to another dimension. I may even say this is the Hermit's climb up the mountain.
